  • Finding concordances to be consulted during the transcription process for the piece (primarily sources in Hampartsum notation; sources in staff notation and publications if necessary). To able to find concordances via CMO Source Catalogue:
    - Go to the CMO Website and click on Cmo Editions and Source Catalogue or directly click here.
    - Type the makâm, usûl, composer name or any relevant information in the search box on the upper right corner. Sometimes, searching with only makâm and usûl name may not help since a piece could have been recorded under a different makâm or usûl name (since not every source is available online, other sources you have access should also be checked if they include the same musical piece).
  • Since not every source is available online, other sources should also be checked if they include the same musical piece by using the indices found on the server.
  • The page and PDF-numbers should be noted down for an easy recall during the ongoing process. Additionally, any other information such as different composer attribution or makâm/usûl etc. that a concordance supplies and that is believed to be useful to state in the critical report, can be also written down as a note.
