- Representing number of usûl cycles of all sections in the piece.
Write H to denote hâne, i.e. H1 for the first hâne, H2 for the second hâne etc. Write number of the usûl cycles into gaps between two straight lines within each hâne row.
- There should also be colons within each section to be able to indicate any repeated part. However, these colons should remain hidden with white font color if there is no need for them. This provides to keep the rows aligned (Watch out that there should also be a hidden colon after the last subsection in each hâne).
- If there is any modulation in the usul structure, e.g. in the semâî genre there is usually a transition to sengîn or yürük semâî from aksak semâî, this should be stated with asterisk and corresponding information to be written below the structure. The font size for this reference note (i.e. sengîn semâî) sould be set to 9 pt. The “line spacing before” should be set to 6 pt. (Line Spacing Options->Before).
- If there is any other information to comment on (regarding the structure of a piece) then this can also be given below the structure in usual font size (11 pt). However, the “line spacing before” sould be set to 12 pt this time.
- Representing other subsections such as teslîm or mülâzime in the piece.
Write T for teslîm, M for mülâzime right next to the numbers denoting usûl cycles within the hâne row, if needed. If a subsection is smaller than one usûl cycle, then the abbreviation should be given with a slash slanted to the right.
If a subsection (teslîm) contains one or more usûl cycles, then the abbreviation should be given in parentheses.
