  • You can use the example Word template, however, it would be best if you created a new document with the same formatting settings and then type (or paste) your text in it. If you copy-paste your text to the current example, the number and position of page- and section breaks might not be suitable for your introduction and deleting them always leads to formatting changes.
  • Save the file and name it following the example structure: “Introduction_CMO1-I-11b_Commentary”.
  • Convert the file to PDF.
  • Remove the blank page at the end of the introduction, before the title page, if necessary (i.e., if the introduction ends on an even page). Refer to the ‘Pagination’ section of this document for the details. Do not remove the blank page in Word; it will change the formatting of the preceding section and corrupt the pagination.
  • Save and close the file.
  • Add the file to the end of the PDF you titled “CMO1-I-11b_Commentary” and save.
